This week at our Online Minecraft Club we decide to embark on learning about the Periodic Table:
The task was to learn how to make Helium Balloons.
To do this we watched a YouTube Video with simple instructions on how to make each component.
Firstly, to make the latex, we needed to use an Element Constructor and put in the correct amount of protons, electrons and neutrons to make the elements required to make - Carbon (C), Hydrogen (H) and Helium (He).
Secondly, we put just the right amounts of Carbon (5xC) and Hydrogen (8XH) into the Compound Creator to make latex. With these components we made - latex.
Finally, it was off to the crafting table to craft our coloured helium balloons. We just needed to collect some dye and a set of leads on the way to create the final product.
After crafting our balloons we were asked to make an Archery Range include both target and balloon shooting. Here are our creations:
 |
| Ashlee's Helium Balloons |
 |
| Punjab's Archery Range - both target and balloons |
 |
| Robert's Balloon Archery Range |
 |
Slaine's Balloon Range | | Slaine's Archery Range |
|
 |
| Mrs Fox's Archery Club |
We enjoyed learning how to use the Compound Creator and Element Constructor. With lots of practice, questioning and problem solving, we were all very successful in our creations!
I was very proud of the korero around making the elements, the latex and our final product.
Go to our Minecraft Website to find out more about our task and watch the videos for yourself. Happy creating.
Have you ever tried creating elements from the Periodic table in Minecraft, from the beginning, without finding them in your inventory?
Have you attached a helium balloon to an animal in Minecraft - go ahead and try!
